SERVING OPPORTUNITIES

A significant part of life in Small Groups at New Hope is serving together in the name of Jesus. On this page you will find lots of ways that you can serve as a group, both within the four walls of New Hope, but also outside those four walls. It is a priority for each New Hope Small Group to serve quarterly. Thank you for serving and for showing the love of Christ as you do so! This page will be updated periodically as new opportunities become available.

Local Volunteer Opportunities:

Adel Mobile Food Bank is an essential service dedicated to bringing nutritious food directly to our community. By providing fresh produce, canned goods, and other essentials, this initiative actively combats food insecurity in Adel.

Our dedicated volunteers are crucial to the program’s success, helping with distribution and raising awareness about available resources. The mobile food bank not only addresses immediate hunger but also fosters community connections and promotes awareness.

This family-friendly event is a wonderful opportunity for groups to serve together, making a positive impact on the well-being of those we assist while connecting with fellow volunteers.  We need help sorting groceries and boxing food monthly. Your support will ensure we can efficiently distribute nutritious food to our community. Join us to make a difference!

Single Parent Provision (SPP) is a non-profit organization working to strengthen the lives of
single parents and their families.  From the SPP web site: We will honor and glorify God through
the provision of needed support and growth opportunities while fostering relationships with
single parents and their families. Parents will come to know caring people who have their
interests in mind, are eager to walk beside them and help their family thrive.

Home Provision – Through Home Provision, our church has the opportunity to serve single parent families by completing projects and repairs around their home. Your group picks the day(s) in which they’d like to serve, and SPP coordinates these efforts with local single parent families. Example work to be done includes: lawn care & gardening; interior & exterior painting; furniture assembly or removal; packing & moving; cleaning & organizing; installing items such as towel bars, light switch covers, door handles, etc.; other items as volunteers and skill sets allow.
Dates:  May 17, 18;   June 7, 8, 28, 29;  July 12, 13, 26, 27;  August 2, 3, 15, 16;  September 6, 7, 20, 21;  October 4, 5, 18, 19;  November 1, 2, 8, 9;

Meals for Groups – At various times and locations throughout the fall, Single Moms
Groups or Single Dads Groups gather for an evening of encouragement, a meal, and
study. A helpful way that small groups engage is by providing a meal for one of the
Group meetings.
Date: Various dates available

Blessing Bags for Dads - Blessing Bags provide an opportunity to give a gift of encouragement to a local single parent. Blessing Bags for dads will be distributed to single fathers who attend SPP’s Single Dad’s Day at the Iowa Cubs game on June 1st.  Blessing Bag instructions are currently available at New Hope Church!

WELCOME HOME

At New Hope, small groups are the heart of our church family. From those young in age to those young at heart, there is a small group for everyone. From new Christian to spiritually mature, there is a small group for everyone. Within our small groups we Love, Grow, and Go as we care and pray for one another, grow as disciples of Christ, and serve in His name.
