SERVING OPPORTUNITIES

A significant part of life in Small Groups at New Hope is serving together in the name of Jesus. On this page you will find lots of ways that you can serve as a group, both within the four walls of New Hope, but also outside those four walls. It is a priority for each New Hope Small Group to serve quarterly. Thank you for serving and for showing the love of Christ as you do so! This page will be updated periodically as new opportunities become available.

Local Volunteer Opportunities:

Single Parent Provision (SPP) is a non-profit organization working to strengthen the lives of
single parents and their families.  From the SPP web site: We will honor and glorify God through
the provision of needed support and growth opportunities while fostering relationships with
single parents and their families. Parents will come to know caring people who have their
interests in mind, are eager to walk beside them and help their family thrive.

Blessing Bags - Blessing Bags provide an opportunity to give a gift of encouragement to

a local single parent. Blessing Bags are distributed by the thousands each year by
Single Parent Provision as a tool to interject hope and love into the midst of the
circumstances of single parents. A small group can purchase items and host a Blessing
Bags party to assemble them for distribution.
Date: Ongoing, at will

Break Time - Occurring once a month, Break Time is a consistent opportunity for single
parents to refuel for a three-hour block of time while their kids enjoy a fun evening of
activities, games, a meal, and crafts. Volunteers help by engaging with kids while
participating in the activities.

Meals for Groups – At various times and locations throughout the fall, Single Moms
Groups or Single Dads Groups gather for an evening of encouragement, a meal, and
study. A helpful way that small groups engage is by providing a meal for one of the
Group meetings.
Date: Various dates available

Christmas Events – Single Parent Provision has two large Christmas events in
December. The first is the Single Moms Christmas Dinner. New Hope has been involved
in helping with this event for several years. The other event is the Family Gift Market,
which is an opportunity for single parents and the children to "shop" for Christmas gifts
for each other. Ways to engage in both events consist of volunteering at the events,
volunteering at our office during the months before the events, and hosting a gift drive.

Earlham Christmas Share exists to connect with and serve people in need by offering new and gently used gifts, at no cost, to the families of Earlham and surrounding communities, ensuring no child goes without a present to open on Christmas morning and that no family has to feel the devastating pain of not being able to provide.

Autumn Fun Festival - Earlham Christmas Share provided Christmas gifts to 900 children last year.  They help fund this project in part by hosting the Earlham Autumn Fun Festival.  The festival features a 1k/5k walk/run, silent auction, chili cook-off, and more.  You can help by volunteering to coordinate with this event and enjoy fall-themed fun!

WELCOME HOME

At New Hope, small groups are the heart of our church family. From those young in age to those young at heart, there is a small group for everyone. From new Christian to spiritually mature, there is a small group for everyone. Within our small groups we Love, Grow, and Go as we care and pray for one another, grow as disciples of Christ, and serve in His name.
