We Three Kings was composed in 1857 by John Hopkins, it was written for a Christmas pageant in New York City to tell the story of the Wise Men.  As we sing this song, let us reflect on the dedication of these Wise Men.  Traveling for miles to see their true King, bringing gifts and worshiping, just to return home.

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing immediately calls us to listen. Hark means to listen or to give attention to. The song tells us to listen to what the angels sing. This is a reference to Luke 2:13-14 “Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” As you hear and sing this song throughout the Christmas season, may it bring you to a place of wonder and worship.

The song Away in a Manager tells the story of the birth of Jesus, the Saviour of the world.  It does so which such beautiful simplicity, yet the meaning is powerful.  Jesus is born to a world that seems to have “no room” for Him.  He sleeps his first night surrounded by animals and straw.  Such a humble beginning for such a wonderful Savior.  The question for you today is, do you have room for Jesus this Christmas season?
