Mike Kenny
I grew up in Akron, Iowa a small town in Northwest Iowa and attended Lutheran Church most of my life. I was baptized as a baby and confirmed into the Lutheran faith as a teen. I attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake where I met my wife Lynn, transferred and graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1995.
After graduation I moved to Phoenix, Arizona and married Lynn in 1997. In 1998 we moved back to the Midwest in hopes of starting a family and settled in Des Moines (Beaverdale). In 2004, with 2 kids and one about to start school we wanted a smaller school system and moved to Adel where we eventually attended and became active at Grace Lutheran Church.
In 2012, after relationship and internal struggles I made the decision to stop “posing” as a Christian and chose to follow Jesus. With the help of the Wild At Heart Iowa Bootcamp and the men of New Hope I was saved and my family and I have been a part of the New Hope family since then. If you'd like to hear more of my story I'd love to tell you over a cup of coffee.
I work as an Account Executive for Silicon Valley Cloud company ServiceNow. Lynn is a Physical Therapist for Unity Point at Home, our son Jacob is a sophomore in college, Anna is a freshman in college and Tess is a freshman in high school.
