I'm an old soul tucked comfortably into the beautiful Iowa countryside. I am blessed to share a small homestead we call Moccasin Meadow that is a slice of heaven with my husband, Cody and daughter, Piper. Enjoying the daily responsibilities of caring for our garden, horses, goats, chickens, ducks, pig, dogs and cats, we're outside more than in and surrounded by all of God's beauty. With Jesus by my side, I have always and will always love getting dirt under my nails, exploring the forest, taking care of plants of all kinds, observing wild life and riding horses. If I'm inside, you can often find me in the studio painting, drawing, creating, playing piano or reading. It is a daily adventure learning, touching, observing, and breathing in lessons that the Lord and nature provide.

Things I'm thankful for: I'm thankful for my beautiful family, friends that become family, animals we love like family, and the Mercies new each morning.

I enjoy: I enjoy being in the saddle, being surrounded by nature, reading with my daughter, nightly family dinners, soaking up the sun, creating herbal remedies, painting, coffee and connection.

Favorite Movies/TV: My favorite movies are Grumpy Old Men, The Horse Whisperer, Wild Hearts Can't be Broken and The Parent Trap. My favorite shows are anything by or with Monty Don (gardening icon), Heartland, and...cough...Spirit...cough (with Piper of course)

Favorite Music Groups: Anything on classical or worship radio. Oldies. Folk + Bluegrass like Lost Dog Street Band, Sierra Ferrell, Old Crow Medicine Show, River Whyless, Lord Huron etc.

I hope to Someday: Have a fully functioning self sufficient permaculture homestead. We are started and on our way, but I'm looking forward to continued growth and improvement. A constant work in progress. :)

Some Favorite Books Read: Classics like the Little House series, Black Beauty, Little Women, Call of the Wild, Swiss Family Robinson, Misty of Chincoteague. Historical Fiction and Christian Fiction like Redeeming Love, This Present Darkness, Piercing the Darkness, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe and The Shack.

Favorite Verse: I have a better time choosing a favorite chapter as my top 4 favorite verses are all in Proverbs 31.

Proverbs 31:25 She is clothed in strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. 26 When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness. 27 She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness.

Proverbs 31:30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.
