New Hope Church | Kids Ministry Coordinator

The Kids Ministry Coordinator provides administrative support and second-chair leadership in the Kids Ministry department in order to achieve the goal to help kids find and follow Jesus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and assist Kids Ministry Director with goals and vision of Kids’ Ministry at New Hope Church.

  • Help print weekly Kids Church Curriculum as well as bi-weekly Amplify Curriculum and Worksheets.

  • Provide leadership for all volunteer scheduling, including teachers and helpers for Kids Church and Amplify.

  • Provide leadership of the Nursery volunteer team (recruiting, scheduling, and nursery systems).

  • Serve on Sunday mornings to provide flexible support for the Check-in area, class coverage, or other needs as they arise.

  • Along with the Kids Ministry Director and other volunteers, seek out new guests with children and help introduce them to both New Hope and the Kids Ministry.

  • Be available to help lead and organize Amplify night (drop-off).

  • Provide oversight to the volunteer background check process.

Time Investment: 15 hours per week

  • 4 Hours – Sunday: 8-12 pm

  • 2 Hours – Monday Staff Meeting (9-11 am)

  • 1 Hours – Wednesday (1st) 5-9 pm Amplify Nights

  • 8 Hours – Office/Flex Administration Time

 

Commitment: Two years (preferably on-going)

 

Key Skills and Character Traits:

  • This person needs to be organized, friendly, and have the ability to communicate well with the kids ministry volunteers, parents and children.

  • Maintains a positive and professional attitude.

  • This person needs to be effective as a communicator and team builder.

  • This person needs to passionately love God and have a calling to ministry to children.

 

Paid Staff Expectations:

  • Be a member of New Hope Church in good standing.

  • Annually set goals for self and area of ministry (goals will be reviewed with the Kids Ministry Director).

  • Be a member of New Hope Church (or willing to become a member upon hire).

  • This position has tremendous flexibility on when hours are used for ministry with the exception of attendance at the weekly staff meetings (currently on Monday mornings) and Sunday mornings. 

  • Maintain healthy relationships with the congregation and staff.

  • Maintain a healthy and growing relationship with God.
